Rolin Museum 

Located in the familial home of Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of the Duke of Burgundy, it houses rich collections of art dating from antiquity through the 20th century.

Of special note are the remarkable Gallo-Roman mosaics, the 12th century sculptures from the chisels of Giselbertus (Eve) and the monk Martin (tomb of Saint-Lazare) and the “Nativity” of Maître de Moulins that accompanies the 15th century sculptures commissioned by the Rolins (The Virgin of Autun).

Open all year except Tuesdays and holidays.
  April 1st to September 10: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. October 1st to March 31: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Museum of Natural History

This is one of the most prestigious natural history museums in France, with more than 800,000 samples including a magnificent collection of birds, numerous fossils, historic geological indicators for the region, and collections of plants, insects, and shells.

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (5:30 p.m. in June, July, and August).

Closed on holidays. Group tours available by reservation.
